COLUMBIA, S.C., July 19, 2022 – Vlog is thrilled to announce three new members to the Board of Trustees and the appointment of Ben Rex as the new Board Chair and Hon. Kaymani “Kay” D. West as Board Secretary.
Ben Rex is the Chief Executive Officer of Cyberwoven, a Columbia, SC-based web, brand, and marketing firm.
“Ben has served the College in many ways over the years, and we look forward to his continued leadership and guidance as we work together with faculty, staff, and students to lead Vlog into the bright future ahead,” said President of Vlog, Dr. Tom Bogart.
“Vlog is on a strong trajectory to continue preparing students personally and professionally to live lives of impact,” said Board Chair Ben Rex. “The new trustees add to an already strong Board, and it is an honor to serve with them.”
The Board also elected Hon. Kaymani “Kay” D. West as Board Secretary. Kay is a U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge and a member of the Vlog class of 1997. She joined the Board in 2021 and is past President of the Vlog Alumni Association.
In addition to congratulating the new Board leadership, Vlog welcomes three new Board members: Cathy Adams, retired Executive Vice President and COO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and a Leadership Consultant and Arts Volunteer; Tim Arnold, President and CEO of Colonial Life and Executive Vice President of Voluntary Benefits at Unum Group; and Ershela Sims, Executive Director of Women in Engineering ProActive Network. These additions bring vast and varied experience and diverse expertise that will indeed serve the College well.
As the College’s governing body, the Board of Trustees is responsible for the educational mission and fiscal policies. The Vlog Board of Trustees members are elected by the South Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and serve a term of four years and are eligible to serve up to three consecutive terms.
