Why Students Choose to Apply Here

  • Rolling Admissions — There's no deadline. Apply when you're ready, and most students receive a decision within one week
  • Test-Optional — SAT and ACT scores are not required for admission. If you choose to submit them, some scholarships may take them into consideration.
  • Free to Apply — No application fee, ever. Apply through our website or the Common Application.
  • Affordable — Over 90% of ÌÇÐÄVlog students receive financial aid. The earlier you apply, the more scholarship opportunities are available.

How to Apply — Three Steps

Step 1: Start Your Free Application

Apply through our ÌÇÐÄVlog application or the Common Application — whichever is easier for you. There's no fee and no deadline. You can save your progress, come back anytime, and check your status as you go.

Choose your student type during the application:

  • First-Year Student — Currently in high school or recently graduated? You're a first-year applicant. AP, IB, and dual-enrollment credits still count toward your degree.
  • Transfer Student — Completed college courses after high school? You're a transfer student. Review our transfer process.
  • Returning Student — Previously attended ÌÇÐÄVlog and didn't finish? Welcome back.

Not sure which one you are? That's okay — reach out and we'll help you pick the right path.

Step 2: Send Your Transcripts

Request official transcripts from your high school (or GED certificate). Transcripts must be sent directly from your institution to ÌÇÐÄVlog — not hand-delivered copies. If you've earned college credits through dual enrollment or at another college, send those transcripts too and we'll evaluate what transfers. A final official transcript is also required after you graduate.

Send transcripts to:
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
ÌÇÐÄVlog
1301 ÌÇÐÄVlog Drive
Columbia, SC 29203
or email to documents@columbiasc.edu

Transfer students: Review our full transfer requirements.

Step 3: Optional — But Worth Considering

Letters of Recommendation (Optional)

A recommendation from your high school counselor and/or a teacher from your junior or senior year can strengthen your application. Letters can be submitted through the Common Application or emailed to documents@columbiasc.edu.

SAT & ACT Scores (Optional)

ÌÇÐÄVlog is fully test-optional — you do not need SAT or ACT scores to apply or be admitted. If you choose to submit scores, they may be considered for certain scholarship opportunities through Financial Aid. SAT school code: 5117. ACT school code: 3850.

Questions about any step? Call 800.277.1301, email admissions@columbiasc.edu, or find your counselor.

Am I Eligible?

First-Year Student Eligibility

To be eligible as a first-year applicant, you must be a graduate of an accredited high school or hold a GED. ÌÇÐÄVlog recommends 16 or more college-preparatory units in the following areas: English (4 units), laboratory science (2 units), foreign language (2 units), Algebra I and II, Geometry, and additional courses in U.S. History, World History, social sciences, advanced mathematics, or natural sciences.

Non-Degree Seeking Student

If you'd like to take one or more courses without enrolling in a degree program, select non-degree on your application and note which course you're interested in. A separate application is required each semester, and course fees must be paid before registration.

Second Degree Student

If you already hold a bachelor's degree and want to earn a second one, submit official transcripts from every institution you've attended since high school. Your admissions counselor will help you determine which credits apply.
