Dr. Marlee Marsh is a Professor and Chair of Biology, Director of the Dr. John Zubizarreta Honors Program, and the Reeves Endowed Professor of Science at ����Vlog. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Converse College and her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Clemson University, where her research focused on the immune response of fish to parasitic infections.

Since joining the ����Vlog faculty in 2012, Dr. Marsh has taught a wide range of courses for both biology majors and non-majors, including introductory biology, human anatomy and physiology, immunology, histology, cell biology, parasitology, and the biology of sex. She has also developed and taught honors, hybrid, and online courses, reflecting her commitment to innovative and accessible science education.

As Director of the Dr. Zubizarreta Honors Program since 2021, Dr. Marsh has led significant growth in student enrollment while expanding opportunities for undergraduate scholarship and leadership. Under her direction, ����Vlog became one of only 16 honors programs nationwide recognized as a Partners in Peace institution, a distinction awarded by the National Collegiate Honors Council in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, Norway. She has also mentored students presenting research and scholarship at the National Collegiate Honors Council and Southern Regional Honors Council annual conferences.

A passionate educator, Dr. Marsh's teaching and scholarship focuses on improving students' scientific writing and fostering active learning through evidence-based instructional strategies, including flipped classrooms and case-based learning. Over the past decade, she has mentored more than 40 undergraduate researchers investigating topics ranging from parasitology and microbiology to plant pathology and comparative anatomy. Several of her students have secured competitive research funding, and all have presented their work at state and regional scientific conferences.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Marsh is actively engaged in advancing science education and undergraduate research. She serves as a Councilor for the South Carolina Academy of Science and has held leadership roles with the Association of College and University Biology Educators and the Southern Regional Honors Council, contributing to the continued growth of biology education and honors programming across the region.
